Let’s face it, die-cast reels are intended to be low-cost alternatives to machined reels, right? Imported. Heavier. Easier to damage. Plain Jane. Well . . . not anymore. When creating Liquid, we focused purely on the virtues and advantages a pressure-cast process can offer. Structurally, you can do things with casting that you can’t machine: Full-radius compound curves. Near zero-radius inside corners. And for a precision fit and finish, we even go back and machine the cast part in critical areas—amplifying the best aspects of both worlds. We pushed back on other boundaries as well. How much of a reel at this cost can we make here in the US.? Quite a lot, as it turns out. It’s a good mix, too. Liquid’s high-quality castings are imported, but the components critical to the drag system are CNC-machined in the US. Liquid reels are assembled in Boise alongside our highest-priced reels. No other price pointed reel can boast this much US content and quality oversight.

Airflo’s groundbreaking Technology with the SuperDri Ballistic fly line!
The SuperDri technology has been developed for the serious floating line angler, featuring a friction reducing coating which lets the line glide through the rod rings and adds yards to your cast. The SuperDri’s coating gives you unparalleled floatation with the ability to repel water, dirt and surface scum better than any material in the history of fly lines.
Another new feature of the SuperDri range from Airflo is ‘Zone Technology’, a new concept that uses a low compression compound in the part of the line exposed to the most stress, ensuring the line doesn’t stick to the rod guides when hauling and shooting. This new line technology will minimize friction during the cast, helping with distance and extending the life of your floating line. Coupled with Airflo’s revolutionary ridge and power core, you will notice the difference from your very first cast.
The SuperDri Ballistic was designed exclusively by Manic Tackle Project and Airflo for the New Zealand and Australian markets. It has been designed to load today’s faster action fly rods. This slightly heavier weight forward head has a condensed taper optimized for casting into the wind and generating higher line speeds. This line has the ability to power into a Canterbury norwest wind or roll over exceptionally long leaders. It’s a great line for beginners wanting to load their rods well but is equally at home with an expert angler wanting some extra power to assist in extreme fishing conditions.
